The purpose of our body map is to help increase pleasure and sensitivity to certain parts of your body. Mapping was originally intended to help identify and unlock trauma areas, helping to heal the damaged tissue that might be numb, painful or desensitised, enabling reconnections via touch and in turn gain pleasure and sensitivity from it.
Our bodies and their sensitivity change over the years, especially with having C-sections, natural births and breastfeeding. Why not use mapping to explore your body to see what’s changed for you and discover what rocks your boat. You never know, this exercise might help to encourage a bit of pleasurable boob play rather than just thinking of them as a milking machine!
You or your partner may not want to create a map but you can still have fun going through the process of exploring your bodies to both understand where each other’s hot spots are now. The exercise doesn’t have to be about sex, you don’t have to put any expectation on it if you don’t want to, use it however best suits you.
Creating your body map…..
Overview
1. Draw Body Outline (or download)
2. Make Time Before Bed
3. Set the Scene
4. Explore Each Other from Head to Toe;
use light Touch, Massage, Caresses, Licking and Sucking
5. Code your Body with Colours for Areas you Like and don't Like to be Touched
6. Amber Zone - Proceed with Caution

1. Have a piece of paper and 3 different colouring pens (red,
orange and green are preferable) and draw a rough outline of your body, front and back (or print off a blank body map). Your partner can fill in the colour coding during your exploration or you can do it after.
2. Set aside an hour before bed so you aren’t rushing and have time to relax.
3. Put on some music and turn the lights down.
4. You are going to take it in turns to explore each other’s body. One or both undress; the first one lies down on their back, take a deep breath and close your eyes while the other starts to explore.
a. Begin at the top of the body and gently stroke and caress each area systematically, varying pressure and speed with your hands, lips or tongue.
b. Start with the scalp, work your way down the forehead and temples, caress eyebrows and temples, moving down the face and ears.
c. Start at the top of the ear and massage all the way down to the lobe. Take time kiss, lick and nibble sensitive areas like the side of the neck, behind the ear and down to the collarbone as well as the earlobe and shell.
d. Massage the outer side of the shoulders fairly firmly and work your way up and down the front of your arms, inside and underside of the arms are always super sensitive.
e. Move onto the torso where you can gently stroke across the collarbone and down the chest, caress the boobs/pecs, maybe roll or pinch the nibbles (men can be into this too so don’t leave it out).
f. Lick and suck the nipples and then try blowing on them, then work your way down.
g. Lightly stroke down the sides of the torso and across to the lower stomach, between the pelvic bone. Use both hands to massage the hips and vary the pressure and touch. Fingernails are fantastic to use lightly on sensitive areas if you can handle it.
h. Avoid your privates until you’ve explored the rest of you otherwise you may never get to it! You can also use this exercise as a build up to foreplay if you want to go there or just as a way to connect with your partner with no expectation from either of you.
i. Work down the legs very much like you did with the arms, the sensitive area on the inside of the thighs, again explore the pressure to see what you like.
j. The feet and ankles are very sensitive spots and are linked to other parts of your body so be gentle and take your queues from your partner as a deep arch massage can be just as stimulating as a light tickle if they’re not to ticklish.
k. Turn over
l. Start by going up the leg, massaging the calves with varying firmness, moving to behind the knee with a lighter touch.
m. The thighs and bum are big hot spots for lots of people so spend time on this area. Explore pressure on the bum and inside of thighs, a firm double-handed squeeze on the bum is a favourite.
n. The dimples on the lower back just above the bum is guaranteed to get you going if you hit the right spot, try a firm thumb massage and you’ll be thanking me later…
o. Moving up to the back, shoulders and sides again, mix things up, start with licking up the spine, use finger nails then finish with a massage. Listen to their reactions. Make sure you change directions and rhythm of strokes so you aren’t going over the same area repeatedly and over sensitising it, making it numb or painful.
p. Finally, give a head massage and maybe some hair pulling for good measure, you might just like it.
q. Then you can move to the privates…whether its for him or her be gentle… start with light strokes all around the pelvic area moving towards the vagina/penis. Circle the outside of the opening/tip of the penis and squeeze/roll the clit. Dip in for extra lube and carry on exploring. Stop and start and vary what you are doing, I’m sure you can take it from here…..
r. Time to switch over partners if you want to or you may prefer to save it for another day….

5. Colour in your body outline.
Use the traffic light system to colour code your map.
a. Green Full access any time, yes yes yes!
b. Amber Mmm maybe, it depends…
c. Red No way hose, off limits!
6. Amber zones There are many reasons you might want to use Amber on your map, whether these areas are sensitive during your cycle, you need to be warmed up before they are touched or you may not always feel like having that area touched. Remember to ‘Proceed with caution’ and talk to your partner!
Use the map as a tool to enhance your sex life and your level of pleasure. Talk to each other whilst exploring so you can express what you like, want more of or would like to try. Afterwards, go over each others maps together and don’t be afraid to show what you want, how you want it, when you want it.
