Background

Joanna is a therapeutic coach and counsellor working with a broad spectrum of clients. Her first degree is Psychology and she holds a masters degree in integrative counselling and coaching. She believes therapy and coaching work more effectively when interweaved. Consequently, her work combines goal orientated outcomes with restorative therapy.
Joanna is passionate about the relationship between mind and body and how emotions are stored within the body and uses visualisation and metaphorical techniques to help a client get in touch with their true feelings and values. This deep exploration of the inner world allows for a transformative process where a client can view themselves, their world and their place in it differently.
Joanna also offers clients tools to deal with issues around anxiety, depression and confidence, and explores underlying emotions - allowing for a client to work proactively beyond the therapy room.

About Joanna
Joanna has 20 years experience at management level in Financial Markets and is adept at helping clients manage their work life. Her previous career influences her coaching practice and clients often engage her to focus on work-related issues. However, Joanna's experience of pure coaching taught her that many clients could not move forward due to unresolved emotional issues. She supports the current thinking that all coaches should have some emotional therapeutic training so that they can fully address a client’s needs.
Joanna has co-founded a charity in East London offering mindfulness and low-cost counselling to the community. She also volunteers for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, counselling young women with substance addictions who have moved out of rehab and are looking to reintegrate into society. She has worked with many people from the arts, including actors, artists and writers, helping them explore their inner worlds and how that influences their expressive, creative nature.
As part of her own progression, Joanna has studied meditation, yoga, Reiki and regression therapy and can also help a client reflect on their spiritual self if required.
Joanna offers a warm, supportive and empathic place for her clients and believes that the client-therapist relationship is key to a positive outcome.
