About Us
Located in Bourne End, Bucks, this extraordinary high street greengrocer has been managed by owner David Bryant since it opened 20 years ago. It is an integral part of the parade, providing a magnetism to the area, with fabulous outside seasonal plants and flowers.
David’s understanding of his customer base is his formula for success, providing easy, twelve month access to freshness and quality at competitive prices, backed up by range, product reliability, diversity and constant merchandising. He personally shops at Western International Wholesale Market on a daily basis, as well as sourcing supply from local growers.

A small team of attentive, competent assistants are ready to help with the wide range of fruit, vegetables and salad in several varieties and formats - many local restaurants rely on The Fruit Market for supplies.
In addition, a pot plant/shrub business has been established with a booming cut flower enterprise employing 3 professional florists and a cool store at the back of the shop keeps products fresh between delivery and display.
The triple-pronged strategy of customer, product and staff care has translated into a highly successful business.

The Fruit Market on The Parade, which has been open for 20 years, beat 8,000 other stores to the title ‘Independent Retailer of the Year’ in the 2015 Fresh Awards.
Owner of the Fruit Market, David Bryant, who has been in the fruit and vegetable trade his whole life said: “I didn’t expect to win, I was really happy for me and the staff, as we always try our best.”
Mr Bryant stated that the Fruit Market’s formula to success was quality, value for money, convenience and service.
He said: “It just goes to show that in a small way you can make quite a big achievement.”
The chief executive of the Fresh Produce Consortium, Nigel Jenny commented that Mr Bryant’s understanding of customers is what made him stand out above the rest.
He said: “Customer satisfaction and the traditional qualities of first class service are a winning combination.”
