About Heather Boardman, Garden Designer based in Cheshire

Heather's formal qualification is in fashion design and working freelance gave her the freedom to diversify her design skills, to the garden, establishing Heather Boardman gardens for the individual in 1997.

​

With over 20 years design experience in the world of fashion Heather has slipped seamlessly into designing gardens.

​

"“Whilst I’d created my own gardens, I felt it important to have experience

of other people’s gardens, so my first contracts involved me at ground level,

painting, digging and planting."

Built on this firm basis of design, for her, the attention to detail is paramount.

A keen thirst for horticultural knowledge led to Heather studying horticulture at Reaseheath Agricultural College.  Her passion and enthusiasm for good design together with a life long love of plants enable her to create beautiful gardens for her clients.

“Planting is and always will be a passion for me.

I hate to leave that to anyone else.

At the very least I like to select and set out all the plants,

and then supervise their planting."

A member of The Garden Writers Guild, Heather has lived most of her working life Nether Alderley, Cheshire, working from her garden studio.  She now lives and works in South Cheshire, which is within easy reach of North West, Midlands, The Peak District, West Yorkshire, Derbyshire and the South.
